Bonjour San Francisco

Jake, Mike and I travelled to San Francisco last week(end). We got to spend time with my dad and his wife Shelley, and our cousins, the Ohayons (whom we ADORE) visiting from France. We arrived late Thursday night after a 9 hour drive. This was our first roadtrip with baby Jake. It went reasonably well...We made several stops along the way so that he could stretch his little legs. My favorite stop was Andersons Pea Soup, a truckstop about 2.5 hours outside of the city.

We had so much fin visiting all of the touristy attractions. It's such an odd feeling to be a tourist in your own state!? Highlights included; Fishermans Wharf, Pier 30, Lombard Street, China Town, Market Street, Union Square, the Exploratoriam (museum), and Sausalito to name a few. We also rode a cable car from Market street all the way to Fishermans Wharf. We also got to cross both the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate bridge, which are tremendous to say the least.

Jake has dveloped an obsession with balloons. You will notice he as one in many photos. He also loves semi-trucks, fire trucks and busses. (I am hoping down the line, that translates to a career designing large vehicles, and not being a truck driver.)
We really had a great time...we survived on of my big fears...a roadtrip with a toddler.

Here are just some of the pics we took...

Earthquake!!

Mike, Jake and I were enjoying a lovely lunch yesterday when all of a sudden the earth started to move...Luckily for him, Jake had no idea what was happening, Mike was cool as a cucumber, and then there was me...Let's just say Judge Judy and I both felt the same about the earthquake!

OUCH! OUCH!

Sorry if this is too gross, but in case you ever wanted to know what a broken ankle looks like...these are photos of her ankle as they were taking off her temporary cast that she had on for a week. She now has a hard (fiberglass) cast.

Poor Grandma Janis!

We got to use the motorized cart at Pavilions too!!!

Mike's mom, Janis fell off her bike on Saturday, and fractured her ankle. She has a great attitude about the whole thing. Today, she let me take her on a field trip to Target so we could use one of those motorized shopping carts.
We went to Pavilions the next day...

Knotts "Barfy" Farm

My adorable 16-year-old cousin Sarah (who is visiting from France) and I ventured to Knotts Berry Farm yesterday. We both brought our cameras (yay!) but both ended up having dead batteries (boo!). We had such a fun time. I did however learn that I am not the young adventurer that I once was. We went on about 4 rollercoasters in a row, after the first one, I was already a bit nauseated. By the 4th one, I was ready to sit down and call it a day. We took a little break, ate some lunch, and we were back in roller coaster business. We ended up buying a disposable camera (remember those??) to capture the fun. I now need to drop off the film (Yikes, film!) and get it developed...
